I came across this old cabinet card photo of Jesse James at age 27. This is the same photo that convinced me with 100% certainty that the man known as J. Frank Dalton was the same man as is shown in this photograph. I concluded that by comparing the long scar that goes down the left side of his face from right below the sideburn line to past the middle of his cheek and found the identical scar on both Jesse W. James at this young age and J. Frank Dalton at around 100 years old. The older Jesse James's scar was darker from age but it is unmistakable proof that Dalton was really Jesse. This and many other copies of this photo show where someone tried to cover up the scar on the younger Jesse and it shows more clearly on other copies. But you can see it, where it crosses the left cheek, when you enlarge this photo.
